Ambient Device, Inc. is a technology company specializing in real-time information displays, delivering real-time data such as weather conditions, traffic updates, sports scores, and stock quotes through its proprietary Ambient Information Network System.
Although several products were already on the market, they lacked a cohesive brand and product identity. To strengthen its presence and elevate brand perception, the company aimed to develop a new product line with a unified design language that clearly communicated its brand through the products themselves.
Challenge: Redefine and Establish Brand Identity Through Products
Ambient Device had already launched several products on the market, but without a cohesive and strong brand or product identity. Establishing this identity is essential to appeal to consumers by expressing originality through their products.
The design team engaged in in-depth communication with the Ambient Device’s team to understand their brand story and core business goals. Also conducted research on trends and consumer preferences in the electronics and information display markets to redefine and establish Ambient Device’s unique brand identity—one that would naturally appeal to consumers through the product itself.
The proposed direction was to express Ambient Device’s useful technology in a pure, simple, and clean way—creating an emotional connection with users and allowing the products to become a natural part of their daily lives.
Cirrus: Seamlessly Integrating into the User’s Everyday
Life as the Embodiment of Ambient Device’s Identity
“The Cirrus” is designed with a simple, minimal rectangular form to emphasize its main elements: the screen and the main control dial.
Soft, gently curved front surface details highlight the main display area, while the high-gloss finish creates a sleek and approachable character.
A softly glowing blue status indicator intuitively shows the location of the main control dial, while also serving as a unique, cohesive design element across Ambient Device’s product family.
Ambient Device’s products feature a simple yet sleek and emotionally resonant design that strikes a balance between technology and aesthetics—naturally blending into the user’s everyday life, just like a calm, windless cirrus cloud.
This design language communicates Ambient Device’s unique brand and product identity through the products themselves—effortlessly merging into the user’s daily life with both purpose and elegance.
